What happens when an ice storm hits Dallas? We can tell you! They cancel all flights to Dallas. For a group of 38, that means chaos.
As part of the adventure, our group of 12 rented and drove vans to Cincinnati in the snowstorm. We got there fine and got on our plane at the right time, but the trucks that push the planes away from the gates couldn't get enough traction to push the plane back. Bigger trucks were brought in, but still no go. Finally, they found a way to get our plane moved back enough to turn around. By the time we got de-iced and waited our turn to take off, we were an hour delayed. You guessed it. We are in Houston tonight. We have early flights out tomorrow, so we'll be there soon.
Another group drove to Nashville and took a flight to Miami. They are staying there tonight. Same scenario, early flights on Saturday.
Others are still in Louisville leaving at different times on Saturday. We have awesome students. Everyone was patient and took everything in stride. Since we are separated, most of the photos tonight are of the group in Houston, but you get the drift. Oh yeah, that's the reason we are all split up.
